Reconcile
The nature of data migrations is to move X to Y, in an agreed method. How many of us actually perform an external reconciliation of what needed to be migrated from x to y and what actually has taken place?
This is especially useful for migrating from one system to another or for a substantial upgrade. We should never assume that just because the supplier, who wrote the software is doing the migration that all data will be correct upon migrating.
Every client will use their system in a slightly different way, potentially causing an unplanned event in the migration.
